My Feminist Journey in Business and Life

Marshall Folger - Chief of Staff, Polaris Talent Inc

For the past 8 years, I have discovered something about myself and my professional life as an entrepreneur…I like working with a woman as my leader.

Some of you that know me will say,  yeah but you guys have been friends for over 40 years so there's a bias. While you might have a point, it's not entirely accurate.

Even as best of friends we still have our disagreements and I still trip and fall i…

I Know Why Women Make .72 to a Man's Dollar

photo-1524673278499-6c651bf78b14

Women make on average .72 for every $1 a man makes.

Do I have your attention? Good.

The gender wage gap. Sexy topic, I know.

But what is it?

If a woman and a man have the same job, same skills, same degree, odds are very high that he will be getting paid more.

Marie Watkins (Founder of Polaris Talent and DriveHer Consulting).

    What is this?
After meeting at Women with Drive last November, Marie and Carly discovered a shared desire to forge a community that understands the unique challenges of the Motorsports industry when it comes to the people side of the organization. Recruiting and hiring, building culture, training and developing talent, and creating a diverse workplace in the office, shop, and at the track require a different style of human resources knowledge than in traditional industries. Carly and Marie believe it's time to create a space for anyone who handles these things can come together monthly for support, networking, dialogue, and knowledge sharing for anyone who is involved in human resources for motorsports.

We will not record meetings due to the nature of HR topics as well as our desire to protect and preserve any confidential info and NDA requirements.

We envision a monthly format of equal parts knowledge sharing from guest speakers and more informal discussions of timely topics people would like to share.

Who is this for? You don't need to have HR officially in your title! If you handle hiring, training, employee engagement and development, people operations, etc please join us. We welcome series and track owners, team owners and leaders, HR and recruiting professionals, etc. If you feel this topic is relevant to you, you are welcome.
